Accord mortgages (a part of Yorkshire building society) the UK’s 9th largest mortgage lender in 2016 are reporting a 60% increase in remortgage applications in June, July and August compared to last year. It is estimated by the CACI that £35billion of mortgages have a rate coming to an end in September and October, so this suggests an ongoing trend opposed to a flash in the pan.
